Elsten starts off 2013, with his new solo album, "Waiting for Clouds". This new work reveals a new phase in his career. In collaboration with his longtime friend and producer, Brendan Buckley (Shakira's drummer), this project displays a mature, musical vision and attitude towards the highs and lows of life’s many internal and external changes. An emotionally, revealing song journal of heartbreak, romance and growth.

A consistently forward thinking artist who along with his band, “Fulano De Tal” helped pioneer the Latin Rock movement in the late 90’s, Elsten continues to seek new horizons to not only further his musical ideals but to also find ways of using his talents for charitable causes such as helping the homeless and the terminally ill.

Grammy Nominated Singer-Songwriter Elsten Torres in Nashville 05/30

Two-time GRAMMY-nominated and BMI award-winning singer/songwriter Elsten Torres offers an emotional look at his personal journey with his second solo project “Waiting for Clouds” (May 07 Release). Torres has enlisted musical heavyweights for a compilation of songs sharing the highs and lows of an independent musical artist. Fans are invited into one of the most transformative periods of his life, providing an intimate look at his growth both personally and musically.

“This new album is a special personal achievement because it was started during a very turbulent time in my life,” Torres said. “Waiting For Clouds” feels like such a cleansing for me. It really is the end of a long cycle in my life and I feel that after all that chaos this is what’s left.”

“Waiting for Clouds” features an all-star cast of guest performers including Guatemalan singer/songwriter Gaby Moreno and band members for international superstar Shakira including Torres’ former Fulano de Tal band mate, Brendan Buckley. This is the second time Buckley has produced in collaboration with Torres. Their first release, “Individual” (2007), was the only independent album to receive recognition from the American GRAMMYS that year and was nominated for Best Latin Pop Album. “Waiting for Clouds” is mixed by multi-GRAMMY award winning producer and engineer, Sebastian Krys. “Waiting for Clouds” pulls out all the stops to give fans a dynamic and soul-stirring musical experience.

Elsten Torres is a two-time, GRAMMY- nominated singer / songwriter who blends pop, Latin, and Americana musical flavors into rich and eclectic artistic expression.
The Cuban-born, New York-raised musician is credited as one of the pioneers of the Latin rock movement of the ‘90s and has had numerous hits on Billboard’s Top Ten including a number one song for five consecutive weeks.
